With a burst of energy and a roar of excitement, the MACIPRISA games finally kicked off, November 28, 2023. With thrilling matchups and fierce competitions staged for this year’s interschool sports event, the Scorpions did not hold back their stingers as they unleashed their venomous triumphs among contentions from different schools on the first day.

On the soaring highlights of day one, thunderous dribbles and skyrocketing hoops sounded as the Escolarians rivalled up for basketball in different categories at Holy Spirit Academy of Malolos. Commencing with Elementary Boys’ 5 X 5 Basketball category, early tug-of-war has been made on the scores between the match up of CEIS vs. HSAM. Escolarian scorplings had a hard time catching up with their opponents’ dash but still fought the game with fevered passion for their sought-for win. In the end, HSAM paracletes still seized the victory from CEIS, with the score of 35-27.

Another missed shot was made after Scorpions failed to sting LCUP at the Senior Women’s 5 X 5 Basketball category. Starting off strong, LCUP players prevailed over the CEIS Scorpions, grasping the 1st quarter with a score of 17-3. The 2nd quarter then starts off at a slow pace as both teams airballed each other, failing to score consequently on both sides. The quarter ended with CEIS still struggling to equal their opponents with a score of 19-4, in favour of LCUP. The 3rd quarter draws to close with LCUP still fizzing the game with the lead. CEIS tried to boost the team’s score but was barricaded when LCUP escalated their score to 25 points, leaving the said quarter with a score of 25-6. The game ended ravishingly as CEIS showed their fighting spirit, pushing their scores to 10 points despite LCUP still holding the lead, ending the match with a score of 33-10.

On the brighter side of the court, CEIS Scorpions secures a decisive victory, piercing ICSM-SHS at the Senior Men’s 3 X 3 Basketball category. Scorpions finally spewed their victor venom to snatch the key to victory from the ICSM-SHS, shooting the hoops, score of 11-5.

Rip-roaring spikes and strategic blocks then dominated the courts of Bulacan Ecumenical School as CEIS Scorpions emerged victorious in the intense Senior Men’s Volleyball showdown against STI. Fiery first set sizzled early as both teams exchanged strong spikes and blocks, gripping a tight battle between the two. Despite the compact competition, CEIS falls short as STI draws out the first set, 22-25. High hopes for CEIS in the second set as the Scorpions rampaged with fighting spirit, leading the final score of the set with a dazzling 25-22, forcing a third set to cipher with STI. CEIS stung STI as they did not hold back, dominating the third set, pacifying STI with a victorious score of 15-13, ending the game with glory.

Unfolded drives and strokes captivated spectators as the CEIS table tennis team showcased their precision and speed with intense rallies and strategic plays in Centro Escolar Integrated School.
