On October 10, 2022, Monday, Centro Escolar Integrated School - Malolos celebrated teachers' day. In line with the said celebration, the return of Suprema and Kwerdas, the school's official dance and music organization, happened at last!

Prior to the pandemic, school organizations such as Suprema and Kwerdas were constantly active in practices and live performances. Despite the hectic schedule of handling both academic and club responsibilities, members were able to manage and continue to present performances. During the teachers' day celebration, they were given the opportunity once again to exhibit their talents while having the teachers entertained.

SUPREMA

Suprema danced to 90's Medley by Mastermind and Beauty and a Beat by Justin Bieber.

In our interview with Suprema's President, Sarah Suamina, they felt pressure over the short notice for their performance, as they only had six days to practice. But together with their org adviser, Ma'am Quennie Rayos, and the cooperation of the other club members, they managed to pull off all of their preparations, including their dance choreographies and their pink DIY attire.

With their dedication and hard work, they balanced their school obligations and the preparation for their performance. For preparations, they even went to school on weekends and practiced after classes up until 6 p.m. “Literal na gabi na kami nakakauwi,” Suamina said.

According to Suamina, they had mixed emotions during their performance and they were excited, nervous, and delighted right when they performed in front of the teachers and students, as it was their comeback after years of no performance. But, some were sad because they will lose a member, Kohjiroh Iwaki, as he is the elected president of the Supreme Student Council (SSC). After all, they said, the students' cheers and support made them more inspired and motivated to pour their hearts into dancing.

What more should the student body expect from Suprema? Now that Suprema is re-established with more dancers, they are bound to showcase their talents and versatility through their upcoming performances in the future. Hip-hop, robotic, jazz, contemporary, interpretative, and many more genres of dance, Suprema has it all!

KWERDAS

Kwerdas, on the other hand, ensured to provide a heartfelt performance as they sang Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler and You Are The Reason by Calum Scott.

In preparation, Kwerdas hosted two levels of live auditions for vocalists and instrumentalists. Ms. Angielyn Prima C. De Leon was in charge of recruiting two new members for Teams A and B.

In our interview with Kwerdas' President, Erika Victoria, she mentioned that the warm appreciation of the audience had their hearts truly energized. "Being able to perform live again is a dream come true for Kwerdas," Victoria added.

Now that Kwerdas is back, they are more committed to engaging in future school events and uplifting the spirit of campus life.

Suprema and Kwerdas also collaborated in the recent event where Kwerdas sang "You Are The Reason" by Calum Scott while Suprema had it dance interpreted. Now, should Escolarians expect more collaborations from Suprema and Kwerdas? Victoria answered, "Yes." While Victoria kept it discreet, Suamina said that students should stay tuned for their once again collaboration in the upcoming United Nations (UN) Day celebration.

There's more to come, Escolarians! Get ready for Suprema and Kwerdas.
