The newly elected Supreme Student Council (SSC) officers of the Centro Escolar Integrated School Senior-High School Department (CEIS-SHS) for school year 2021-2022 was announced last September 17. 

Despite the large population of SHS students, only the Samahan ng mga Indibidwal na may Bukal na Ordinansya at Layunin (SIBOL) Partylist, led by Micco Adrian Jimenez, who filed for candidacy as a party, and nine others who filed as independent candidates. The official list of candidates for this year’s election was posted last September 13, revealing that only one candidate filed for the two highest positions, Micco Adrian Jimenez for Presidency and Beatrice Marion Dagohoy for 1st Vice President. 

Different social media platforms were used for the candidates’ three day campaign. During this period, the Escolarian community witnessed the SIBOL Partylist and independent candidates’ creativity and passion for service as they maximized their different social media platforms. Following this was the two-day voting duration from September 16 to September 17 until 2:30 p.m. wherein SHS students were given the chance to vote via Microsoft Forms. 

The candidates were able to break through the barriers amidst the pandemic as they connected with the Escolarian community. The passion to serve and lead was evident in these trying times as they were able to execute a smooth-running election. The posting of election results at the official Facebook page of CEIS SHS Supreme Student Council revealed that the majority of those from the SIBOL Partylist and two independent candidates emerged victorious namely, Samantha Santos as Second Vice-President and Cielo Interino as HUMSS Representative in the said elections.

The students are looking forward to the newly elected officers to fulfill their duties and responsibilities despite the challenges of this online set-up. Social media platforms were filled with numerous greetings. Meanwhile, the SIBOL partylist wrapped up the election by expressing their gratitude and appreciation to those who supported them in this year’s election.
