4 Philippine Universities Made Their Debut in the QS University Rankings in Asia for 2024

The results for the 2024 Quacquarelly Symonds (QS) World University Rankings in Asia were released on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Four universities in the Philippines—University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu, Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Far Eastern University (FEU) in Manila, and Mindanao State University (MSU)—entered the rankings for the first time.
The USC and PUP were ranked 551-600, FEU Manila was ranked 701-750, and MSU was ranked 801+.
The Big Four made the list once again, with the University of the Philippines (UP) remaining on the top ranking at 78th, followed by Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) at 137th, De La Salle University (DLSU) at 154th, and the University of Santo Tomas (UST) at 179th.

Since 2009, the top universities in Asia every year have been highlighted, as the results for QS Asia University Rankings have consistently been published annually.
856 universities in Asia are included in the rankings this year, making it the largest QS Asia University Rankings ever.
Peking University, with a perfect score of 100, continued to top the ranking for the second consecutive year, followed by The University of Hong Kong with 97.9, and the National University of Singapore with 97.2.
The 11 indicators used to come up with the QS Asia University Rankings are based on the academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), faculty/student ratio (10%), international research network (10%), citations per paper (10%), papers per faculty (5%), staff with a PhD (5%), the proportion of international faculty (2.5%), the proportion of international students (2.5%), the proportion of inbound exchange students (2.5%), and the proportion of outbound exchange students (2.5%).
