November 30 marked the culmination of the MACIPRISA Meet 2023, with CEIS Scorpions maintaining its powerful sting as it badged different awards in distinct cultural competitions held in Centro Escolar Integrated School.

The energetic day highlights the awaited Battle Of The Bands and Modern Dance Competition held in CEIS' Centrodome together with different participating schools and families cheering and supporting their contestants.

Our very own CEIS Suprema continued to show off their sting on the dance floor as both Junior and Senior High School dance groups placed 1st runner-up in the modern dance competition.

When asked about their experiences and preparations for the competition, Natasha Tapere, the president of Suprema, stated that they felt overwhelmed because of the cheers they got since their entrance to practice their blockings and throughout their performance. She also said that, in the end, they encountered technical problems in their music, but they still got through it. CEIS' Suprema have no regrets because they know they did their best from their preparations until this day, said Tapere.

She also pointed out that their group prepared for this competition by having rigid training. They also accomplished diets to improve their stamina. Lastly, they conditioned themselves to be ready regardless of the results.

The different bands then serenaded the crowd in the late afternoon as they took the stage and started the battle of music. CEIS' group, Kwerdas, proved their powerful sting as they played their winning piece, Umagang Kay Ganda, which marked their championship.

Deniel Dela Cruz, the band’s vocalist, shared his experiences and the preparations they made as a group. According to him, he already experienced being in a band so he already has his expectations about what is going to happen. He also indicated that their experience as a group was fun and unexpected since they thought they made a lot of mistakes, but the others told them that their performance was great. Dela Cruz noted that they were supposed to play two songs, however, the minutes of the performance were cut short so they only played one song — Umagang Kay Ganda. Kwerdas prepared by practicing in the studio and going to their rhythm guitars’ house for their rehearsals.
